Cover & Solicit 4/5

Once again we are treated to a beautiful cover drawn by the extremely talented Jessada Sutthi of Studio HIVE who also does the art for the issue.

Art, Colors & Inking 5/5

Jessada's art in this issue is beautiful. The colors are vibrant and rich with detail. I did notice some areas that seemed like the detail was lost, like the scene with the female vampire and Orochi where her face looked odd. Otherwise it was on par with the past two issues.

Layout & Flow 4/5

Levin does a great job of telling the story and progressing the story. He takes enough time to tell what he needs to in a given scene and then continues on to the next. While I would have like a little longer fight scene (I mean who wouldn't) it was a good length allowing for more story to be told including a little bit of the Vampires story. I will say however the 2-page T&A scene was a little bit of a waste for me, and instead I would have liked a little more backstory on the Vampires.

Story 5/5

I am really loving this mini-series and was excited to read this issue. As I mentioned Rob Levin (Mind the Gap, Witchblade, Darkness) does an excellent job telling the story. We continue a little bit after the last issue with the Vampires rushing in and attacking during the wedding. Orochi frees his brother Kichiro to assist with the fighting, not because he is free but because he knows as a Samurai he will fight to save himself or die an honorable death. The battle scenes were great and showed a lot of detail and fluid motion. During the battle we find that not only has a young lady been bitten but so has Orochi. The question is will those bitten turn? We soon get those answers and more as the issue continues and leads to more shocking revelations. I was also wondering how much backstory was going to be told about the Vampires, and in this issue we didn't actually get a backstory, but Levin did explain why the Vampires are attacking. They believe they are the cure for humanity's illness, and they must show them the way. Again I wish it was already next week because I can't wait to read issue #4.
